In 1871, Ellen was living at Tremethick Farm, Madron, Cornwall, with her husband William Hall who was a farmer of 16 acres.

In 1881, Ellen was living at Tremethick Farm with her husband William, their two daughters Lillian and Vivian, Ellen's mother Jane Leggo, and a general servant called Elizabeth Chapel. William was a farmer of 20 acres.

In 1891, Ellen was living at Tremethick with William and their two daughters. William was a farmer.

In 1901, Ellen was living at Tremethic Villa with William and their two daughters. William was a farmer and gardener.
