The Will of Thomas Nycols otherwise Nycolls of the Parish of West Hoathly in the County of Sussex, Yeoman, written 6 Jun 1816, proved 16 Mar 1830. 4

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Thomas Nycolls of West Hoathly in the County of Sussex Yeoman made this Sixth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sixteen as follows that is to say:

First I will order and direct that all my just debts funeral expences and probate of this my last will and testament be fully paid and satisfied by my executors and trustees hereinafter named.

Item. I give and bequeath unto my Son Henry Nycolls the sum of fifty pounds of lawful English money to be paid by my executors and trustees hereinafter named within Six months after my decease.

And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature and kind soever as well real as personal I give devise and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my good friends William Turner of West Hoathly aforesaid Farmer and Richard Behaley of Ardingly in the said County of Sussex Farmer their heirs executors administrators and assigns for ever upon trust that they the said William Turner and Richard Behaley or the Survivor of them or the heirs executors or admons of such survivor do and shall with all convenient speed after my decease Sell and dispose of my said estate and effects for the best price or prices or most money that can be had etc... and to divide the money arising by Sale thereof together with the rents and profits of my real estate in the mean time unto and equally between and amongst my four Sons namely Thomas Nycolls Walter Nycolls George Nycolls and the said Henry Nycolls at the end of twelve months next after my decease and my will and meaning is that if any or either of my said four Sons shall happen to die unmarried and without issue before the part or share parts or shares of him or them so dying shall be paid to him or them then the part or share parts or shares of him or them so dying shall and be divided unto and equally between and amongst the Survivor or Survivors of them share and share alike and it is my will and meaning and I do hereby order and direct that the receipt or receipts of my said trustees or the Survivor of them etc... shall be good and effectual discharge or discharges for the purchase money thereby acknowledged by them or him etc...

I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said William Turner and Richard Behaley joint executors of this my last will and Testament etc...

I do declare this and this only to be and contain my last will and testament  In witness whereof I the said Thomas Nycolls the Testator have to this my last will and testament etc... set my hand and Seal ... the day and year first above written.
