In 1828 John Curgenven was a beneficiary of his father's will, receiving his tenement called Trequite in the parish of St. Kew in co. Cornwall.

In 1841 John Curgenven, aged about 55, born in the county, farmer, and wife Jane Curgenven, aged about 50, born in the county, were living in Trequite, St. Kew, Cornwall. With them were children: Jane (20), James (12).

John Curgenven late of St. Kew, auctioneer, died without making a will. Bond upon the Administration of his goods &c. was granted to Jane Curgenven, widow of the said deceased, on 27 Jun 1850. Bondsmen: William Paynter Curgenven of Plymouth in co. Devon, draper, and John Popham of Bodmin in the said county, yeoman. 3

  Marriage Information:

John married Jane Paynter, daughter of William Paynter of Perleese, Gent. and Jane Udy, on 22 Dec 1814 in St. Breock, Cornwall. (Jane Paynter was christened 2 May 1789 in Little Petherick, Cornwall, died on 3 Apr 1872 in Trequite, St. Kew, Cornwall and was buried on 6 Apr 1872 in St. Kew, Cornwall, aged 82 years.)
