In 1861 James Freeman, aged 47, born in Gunwalloe Cornwall, farmer of 60 acres employing 2 men & 1 boy, and wife Elizabeth, aged 30, born in Wendron Cornwall, were living in Chiverloe, Gunwalloe. With them were children (born in Gunwalloe) William (9), James (7), scholar, Edward (5), scholar, John (2), and Thomas (3 m). James' brothers Edward and Thomas were living nearby.
In 1881 James Freeman, aged 64, born in Gunwalloe, farmer of 55 acres, and wife Elizabeth, aged 52, born in Wendron Cornwall, were living in Degibna, Wendron. With them were children (born in Gunwalloe) John (22), ag lab, Thomas (20), Samuel (18), Henry (16), Albert (14), scholar, and Bessie (10), scholar and Eugene [Eugenia] (10), scholar.

SUDDEN DEATH. Mr. James Freeman, of Degibna, near Loe Pool, Helston, died very suddenly last week. Deceased, who was about 70 years of age, went to Pentire Farm to kill a pig for Mr. Trevithick, a neighbouring farmer. He had partly accomplished his task when he suddenly fell to the ground and died immediately.
