In 1837 Mary was a beneficiary of the will of her maternal grandmother, Alice Stodden, widow, receiving a wainscott chest of drawers blue bedstead and hangings.
In 1841 Mary Caddy, aged about 30, and husband Michael Caddy, aged about 30, carpenter, were living in Chiverloe, Gunwalloe Cornwall. With them were children Mary (8), Grace (6), Elizabeth (3) and Ellen (6 months).
