Article from The Leader (Orange), 14 May 1915:
Boy's Foolish Prank.
A Mudgee youngster, named W. Casimir, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Casimir, a day or two ago, found a tin of gunpowder. He poured a portion of it into a bottle, then dropped a lighted match in. Instantly there was a loud explosion and he received the full charge in the face, mainly in the eyes, blinding him temporarily. Dr. Nicholl was telephoned for, and was soon on the scene.... The boy was at once removed to Mudgee hospital, and it is feared that his eyes have been severely injured.
