Except on the day she was married when Caroline stated she was 19 years old, she otherwise understated her age by a couple of years.

In 1881 Caroline Knowlden (30) of Stepney, seaman's wife, was living 25 Cordelia St., Bromley. With her were children: Caroline (12) of Poplar, scholar, Jemima (10) of Poplar, scholar, Ada (9) of Limehouse, scholar, Clara (7) of Bromley, scholar, Alfred (5) of Bromley, Jessy (1) of Bromley.

In 1891 Eleanor [sic] Knowelden (40) of Limehouse and husband Alfred Knowelden (44), labourer in iron yard, were living at 25 Cordelia St., Bromley. With them were children (born in Bromley): Ada (19), machinist, Clara (17), machinist, Alfred (15), stoker in saw mills, Jessie (11), scholar, Lillie (9), scholar, Sarah (7), scholar, Thomas E (5), May (2), Eleanor (5 mo).

In 1901 Caroline Knowelden (51) of Limehouse, married, was living at 25 Cordelia St., Bromley, London. With her were children (born in Bromley): Thomas (15), sawyer mill's hand, May (13), Nellie (8).

In 1911 Carolien Knowelden (60) of Limehouse (mother of 13 children 3 deceased) and husband of 43 years Alfred Knowelden (64) of Southwark, boiler cutter, were living at 25 Cordelia St., Bromley. With them were children (born in Bromley): Thomas (25), boiler cutter, May (22), cigar box finisher, Edith (17), rice packer.

On 21 Apr 1920 Caroline Knowelden, aged 69, and husband Alfred Knowelden, aged 73, clerk, departed Liverpool England for Quebec Canada aboard the vessel Corsican. 4

Caroline Knowelden, of 67 John Street, resident of Ontario, Canada for 6 years, housewife, daughter of Christopher Hendra (born in England) and Lizzie Curtis (born in England), wife of Alfred Knowelden, died aged 76 years. 3 Caroline's age was closer to 78 years.
