In 1841, Amy Strong, aged about 25, and husband Mathew Strong, aged about 20, carpenter, were living in Rainscombe, Newnton, Wiltshire. With them was a Sarah Strong, aged about 5.
On 15 May 1848, Mathew Strong, age 27, carpenter, from Wilcot Wiltshire, and wife Anne [sic], age 33, carpenter's wife, from Wilcot Wiltshire, and daughter Lavinia, age 4, of Wilcot Wiltshire, arrived in Australia per the ship William Stewart. Both parents could read and write.
