In the 1939 Register Kathleen G Hewson (b. 3 Feb 1904), married, unpaid domestic duties, was at 11 Garfield Terrace, Plymouth, Devon. With her were [three records officially closed] and Richard G Hewson (b. 11 Jul 1939), under school age.
Mrs. W. G. Hewson, formerly Miss Kathleen Bristed, of Christchurch, and well known in Wellington, where she resided during her husband's naval appointment in New Zealand, is now, with her family of four, living at Bride, Cornwall. Her husband, Paymaster-Commander Hewson, is additional secretary to the Commander-in-Chief, Mediterranean Fleet.

LONDON, May 22
A wedding of special interest to New Zealanders took place this afternoon at St. Michael's Church, Highgate, when Kathleen Griffith, only daughter of Mr. A. H. Bristed, of Christchurch, and the late Mrs. Bristed, was married to Paymaster-Lieutenant Wilfred Graham Hewson, R.N.
Miss Bristed arrived in England in Easter Sunday, by the Barrabool. Among the passengers was the Right Rev the Bishop of Newcastle (Bishop Long), and today's ceremony in the beautiful Highgate Church was performed by him.
The bride was given away by her uncle, Major R. B. Bristed, and the subsequent reception was held at the house of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Heath, Mrs. Heath being the sister of Mr. Bristed, the bride's father....
