DIED OF INJURIES.

Private Frank Griffith BRISTED, Wife, Mrs. F. G. Bristed, Christchurch.

Private F. G. Bristed was well known in Christchurch, where he was one of the first men of the city to enlist for military duty, and left New Zealand with the First Echelon, having given up his position as sales manager for Aulsebrook and Company to enter the army. He is survived by his widow, who was formerly Miss Jean McDougall, a daughter of Mr. R. E. McDougall, and two children.

The late Private Frank Griffith Bristed, who died of wounds in the Middle East, was known in Kumara about 15 years ago. He came with the late Mr. Frank Simpson and started farming at Taramakau Settlement. He stayed, however, for only a brief period, after which he gave up farming and returned to Christchurch. He was a fine type of young man and many are the expressions of regret and sympathy with his wife and children from Kumara people who had the pleasure of his acquaintance.

The bride was Frances Jean, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. McDougall, Papanui road, and the bridegroom was Frank Griffith, youngest son of Mr. A. H. Bristed, and of the late Mrs. Bristed, of Avonside.... The bridesmaids [were] Misses Nancy McDougall, Kathleen Bristed, and Betty Webb.... Mr. Jack Bristed was best man....
