In the matter of the real and personal estate of Edward Griffith Bristed late of Christchurch, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, farm labourer, but at his death a 2nd Lieutenant No. 6/1786 in His Majesty's New Zealand Expeditionary Force (hereinafter called "the said deceased")...
WHEREAS it has been reported to the Public Trustee, and he has reasonable cause of belief, that the said deceased died on or about the 3rd day of December 1917, intestate: AND WHEREAS, as now known, the real and personal estate of the said deceased is set forth in the schedule or list thereof written on the third page hereof, and the gross value of the same as estimated by the Public Trustee at this date does not exceed £400, and whereas no person has taken out administration to the said estate: NOW, THIS IS TO NOTIFY to all whom it may concern that, in pursuance of the provisions of section 15 of the Public Trust Office Act ... the Public Trustee doth hereby ELECT TO ADMINISTER the property of the said deceased ... dated this 17th day of June, 1919....
