At the time of the 1891 Scotland Census Jessie Cowan, aged 26, born Tarbolton Ayrshire, dressmaker, was visiting Flora Sadler, tailor's wife, at 200 High St., Ayr, Ayrshire.
In January 1892 Jessie Ronald Cowan was present at the marriage of her sister Jane Leggat Cowan to Henry Bell in Ayr.
At the time of the 1901 Scotland Census Jessie R. Mathewson, aged 37, born in Tarbolton Ayrshire, and husband Walter Mathewson, aged 35, born in Deane in Roxburghshire, book keeper & mercantile clerk, were living in Alton Burn, Castlehill Rd., Ayr, Ayrshire. With them was daughter Agnes R. (under 12 months).
