In 1851 Joseph Blight, aged 21, born in Illogan Cornwall, carpenter, was with his widowed father in Tregajorran Lane, Pool, Illogan.

On 7 Jan 1854 Joseph Blight, aged 24, arrived in Melbourne Australia aboard the ship South Carolina.
