In 1841 William Blight, aged about 55, born in the county, sh[oe] m[aker], and wife Ann Blight, aged about 50, born in the county, were in Pool, Illogan, Cornwall. With them were children Jemima (25), Catherine (20), John (15), carpenter, William (14) cop[per] miner, and Joseph (11).
In 1851 William Blight, aged 68, born in Illogan, widower, boot & shoe maker, was living in Tregajorran Lane, Pool, Illogan. With him were children (born in Illogan, unmarried) Eliza (29), housekeeper, Joseph (21), carpenter, and granddaughter Elizabeth Blight (20) of Illogan, unmarried, copper ore dresser.
In 1861 William Blight, aged 78, born in Illogan, widower, shoe maker, was in Carn Brea Lane, Illogan. With him were daughter Elizabeth Bennetts (52) of Illogan, widow, house keeper, and grandchildren (born in Illogan) Richard Bennetts (24), unmarried, miner tin & copper, and Jane Bennetts (21), unmarried, dressmaker.
In 1871 William Blight, aged 88, born in Illogan, widower, shoe maker, was in Tregajorran Lane, Pool, Illogan. With him was daughter Elizabeth Bennetts (62) of Illogan, widow, housekeeper.

POOL.
AN OLD INHABITANT.—We have to record the death of the oldest inhabitant in this neighbourhood, viz.:— Mr. William Blight who has reached the ripe old age of 93 years. Deceased was a member of the Wesleyan Society for above 60 years, and has been remarked for his regularity of habits, his strict honesty, and his excellent memory even near to the close of life. Deceased, was also very brisk and enjoyed excellent breath even was in the last few months. He has been an inhabitant of Pool over 70 years.
