Date: The day after St John the Baptist, 9 Edward III [25 June 1335].
Parties: Robert Tochet', querent, and Edmund Tochet', deforciant.
Property: The manor of Assewell' in the county of Rutland and the manor of Marketon' in the county of Derby.
Action: Plea of covenant.
Agreement: Robert has acknowledged the manors to be the right of Edmund, as those which Edmund has of his gift.
For this: Edmund has granted to Robert the manors and has rendered them to him in the court, to hold to Robert, of the chief lords for the life of Robert. And after the decease of Robert the manors shall remain to Thomas, son of the same Robert, and Joan, his wife, and the heirs of their bodies, to hold of the chief lords for ever. In default of such heirs, remainder to the right heirs of Thomas.
