Son and heir apparent of Nicholas Fitz Martin (otherwise Nicholas Martin), Knt., of Cemais (of Kemes), Pembrokeshire, Wales, Blagdon and West Lydford, Somerset, etc., and Isabel, granddaughter and co-heiress of Ralph Fitz William, of Brompton Ralph and Withycombe, Somerset, by his wife Yolande de Mohun. He was probably born about 1236.

Died within the lifetime of his father, by 21 Aug 1274. 1

Nicholas married Maud de Bryan, daughter of Guy de Bryan, Governor of Carmarthen & Cardigan Castles, and Eva de Tracy, before 1257. (Maud de Bryan was born on 25 Dec 1242 in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, Wales and died before 29 Sep 1279.)
