As one of the four surviving, unnamed children of his late mother Elizabeth Richards, Michael was bequeathed 20 shillings in the Will of his uncle John Gartrell of Phillack, yeoman (written 1767).
Michael Richards and his son William Richards are named as beneficiaries in the Will of Michael's brother Nicholas Richards of Illogan, yeoman (written 1795).
