In 1851 Henry Banfield, aged 66, born in Lelant Cornwall, pensioner Royal Marine, and wife Mary, aged 64, born in St. Agnes Cornwall, were living in St. Mary Street, East Stonehouse Devon. With them were children (born in Stonehouse, unmarried) Henry (30), cabinet maker, James (27), saddler, Eliza (21), milliner, and grandson Wiliam Banfield (3) of Stonehouse, scholar.
