Parties:

1) Dame Frances Gifford, widow; and Francis Loggin, esquire
2) Edward Banfield of Lelant, yeoman.

Property: stamping mill called Nance Stamps in Lelant, now in possession of (2) and John Banfield. Part of Connerton manor.

Consideration: 6 guineas. Rent and dues as usual.

Term: 99 years, on life of John Banfield aged 21, son of John Banfield senior; term to commence from the deaths of Ann Banfield and John Banfield senior.

Note at foot: `The above said John Banfield is to be made a party to the lease jointly with Edward'.

Parties:

1) Henry, Lord Arundell, Baron of Wardour; and Mary, Lady Arundell, his wife
2) John Banfield the younger of Lelant, yeoman.

Property: Nance, now in the tenure of (2) and Edward Banfield, yeoman; tin and timber rights reserved. Part of Connerton manor.

Consideration: £35.

Term: 99 years, on life of (2) aged about 32; to commence from the deaths of John Banfield, father of (2), and Edward Banfield, yeoman.

Rent: 13 shillings 4 pence. One capon yearly or 12 pence. One harvest journey or 6 pence. Heriot of one best beast or £3 at death of the life.

Covenants:

To do common suit to the court and mill of the manor.

To act as reeve if so elected.

To act as a conventionary tenant of the manor.

To repair and maintain the property.

1) Mary, Lady Dowager Arundell, widow and executrix of Henry, Lord Arundell, Baron of Wardour, deceased
2) John Banfield the younger of Lelant, tinner.

Property: Nance, formerly in the tenure of Edward Banfield, and now in the tenure of (2); tin and timber rights reserved. Part of Connerton manor.

Consideration: surrender of two former leases, one dated 4 November 1737 determinable upon the death of Edward Banfield; the other dated 10 May 1754 and determinable upon the death of (2); and £21.

Term: 99 years, on lives of (2) and brother Francis aged about 16; to commence from the death of John Banfield, father of (2).

Rent: 13 shillings 4 pence. One capon yearly or 12 pence. One harvest journey or 6 pence. Heriot of one best beast or £3 at deaths of the lives.

  Marriage Information:

John married Grace Amerson, daughter of Hannibal Amerson and Mary Tregidgon, on 18 Sep 1742 in Grade, Cornwall. (Grace Amerson was christened 5 Sep 1714 in Mullion, Cornwall and was buried on 19 Feb 1805 in Grade, Cornwall, aged 92 years.)
