Abstract of the Will of Sir George Tipping of Whitfield in the County of Oxon, Knight, written 12 Oct 1625, proved 1 Jun 1627. 2
Notes that he has already settled divers manors, lands, tenements & hereditaments on his eldest son John Tipping now deceased; John's son, Thomas Tipping, now heir apparent, aged about 10, he places in the care of Thomas's grandmother, the testator's wife, and his wife's brother Sir William Borlas the elder, Knight, and his brother Bartholomew Tipping, Esq., and his son-in-law John Feilder, Gent., and his friend Thomas Wentworth of Lincoln's Inn, Esq.
Gives to his wife Dame Dorothy Tipping all his plate and household stuff, his milk kine, his coach and coach horses at the manor house in Whitfield in co. Oxon.
Notes that he has already bequeathed certain annuities or rent charges to his grandson George Tipping, youngest son of his eldest son John Tipping, deceased, said annuities to be paid out of his manor of Draycott.
Gives £100 to his grandchild Ann Fylder, to be paid to her when she turns twenty or at her day of marriage, whichever happens first. He also gives £50 each to his grandchildren Dorothy Fylder and Elizabeth Fylder, to be paid to them when they reach their respective ages of twenty years.
Gives £6 13s. 4d. to his servant Josias Parrat, who waits upon him in his chamber.
Gives £10 to his ancient servant Annes Debein?.
Gives £3 to the poor of the town of Watlington.
Gives £3 to the poor of Thame.
Gives 20 shillings to the poor of Whitfeild.
Gives 20 shillings to the poor of Wesson.
Gives 20 shillings to the poor of Lewknor.
Gives 20 shillings to the poor of Dunstan . . . . . . .
Gives to each of his servants a quarter-year amount over and above their usual wages.
The rest of his goods he gives to his sons William Tipping and Samuell Tipping, appointing them co-executors of his last will and testament.
