Will of Thomas Sawer (paragraphed for ease of reading)

In the name of God Amen Anno Domini 1592 I Thomas Sawer of Haireby in the County of Lincoln Husbandman beinge sicke in bodie but of good and perfecte remembrance praise be given to God doe make and ordaine this my last Will and testament in manner and forme followinge -

First I bequeathe my soule into the handes of almightie God hopinge to be saved by the death and bloudesheddinge of Jesu Christe And my Bodie I give to be buried in the Parrishe Churcheyarde of Hairebie

Item: I give to my syster Marie Smithe one flecked . . . . . . . to be delivered her at the daie of her marriage

Item: I give to Eliz: Smithe the daughter of my Brother Edward Smithe one . . . . . . . and one lambe to be delivered at the nexte clippinge time after mye deathe

Item: I give to mye twoe Daughters Annes & Avis xl. a peece to be paid to either of them at the aidge of xxiii yeeres or at the daie of theire marriage whether shall come first and if so be that either of them should departe before the said terme then I will that the whole xxl. shall remayne to the Survivour and if theie bothe die before theie come to the said aidge then I will that theire porcions shall bee equallie devided betwixte Sara mye Wief and Jennett mye Sister the wief of Edward Smithe or to theire heires or administrators and if neither I will that my children . . . . . . . theire porcions shall remayne with mye Wief if shee doe live? so longe till theie come to theire full aidge But if shee die before theie come to the aidge of xxiii yeeres then I will that after her deathe the children with theire porcions shall remayne with Edward Smithe duringe theire nonaidge or where he shall appointe

The rest of my Goodes unbequeathed mye Debtes and Legacies dischardged and my Bodie honestly brought to the grounde I give to Sara my Wief a home I doe make sole Executrix and I doe make Edward Smithe mye supervisor and give for his paines ijs.
