Avis married John WAIT, son of John WAITE and Elizabeth, on 23 Jun 1612 in Tetford, Lincolnshire, England. (John WAIT was born in 1588 in Tetford, Lincolnshire, England, christened on 7 Jul 1588 in Tetford St. Mary, Lincolnshire, England and was buried on 20 Dec 1631 in Brinkhill St. Phillip, Lincolnshire, England.)

   Marriage Notes:

A private entry in the IGI has the mother of a couple of John's children as Emec, a misreading of Emott or Emmatt. I believe this is an assumption based on the fact that an Emott Wait died in Brinkhill a widow in 1638 (noting John Wait died in 1631); however, she was probably the same as "Em Holmes" who married Thomas Waite in 1606 in Brinkhill. Thomas died in 1637. There is no record in either the Tetford or Brinkhill parish registers for the marriage of a John Wait and an Emott. Note also that John and Avis's son Richard had a daughter Avis.
