Writing her Will in August 1759 widow Catherine Hulbert names her son-in-law Charles Cruse of Greenhill in the parish of Wootton Bassett in co. Wilts, Gent, as husband of her late daughter Jane, when making bequests to their children.

Charles married Jane Hulbert, daughter of Thomas Hulbert and Catherine Gallimore, on 17 Jan 1736 in Lydiard Tregoze, Wiltshire, England. (Jane Hulbert was born about 1708 in Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, England and was buried there 27 Apr 1752.)
