DUNLOP—THURLOW

A large number of friends assembled at the Wynum Methodist Church on January 26 to witness the marriage of Mr. Arthur George Dudley Dunlop (State Audit Inspector) and Miss Mona Coreene Thurlow (only daughter of Rev. and Mrs. T. R. Thurlow, Wynnum), Rev. T. R. Thurlow officiated and was assisted by Rev. Joseph Bowes, who officiated at the wedding of the bride's parents. The bride has been organist at the Manly Church, Sunday School teacher, and also a member of the Wynnum choir. The Rev. Mr. Thurlow gave away his daughter, who wore a gown of ivory pussy willow fashioned on straight lines and beaded in an all over design in silver and crystal. Her veil of Brussels net, which was lent by Mrs. Albert Falk (Corinda), was arranged to form a train and was held in position with a circlet of orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet. Miss Dunlop, wbo attended as chief bridesmaid wore a frock of mauve crepe de Chine, which had pleated panels, and was finished with a girdle of hand-made flowers. Miss Rees, who was also in attendance, chose a frock of blue crepe de Chine made on the same style as the former's gown. Little Miss Betty Dunlop acted as trainbearer. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Frank Shelley (Ipswich), snd Mr. Hugh Thurlow (brother of the bride) acted as groomsman. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a diamond ring, and to the chief bridesmaid he gave a string of pearls and to the second maid an onyx clock. The little trainbearer was presented with a gold armlet. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a gold wristlet watch. The service was choral, and during the signing of the register Miss Rita McGowan rendered a vocal solo. At the conclusion of the ceremony the guests were entertained at a wedding breakfast at the Parsonage, Kingsley-terrace, Wynnum, by the bride's parents. Mrs. Thurlow received her guests wearing a costume of gold and amethyst satin damos, and a black crinoline hat, which was relieved with French flowers. She carried a bouquet of amethyst asters. Mrs. Motley (grandmother of the bride) was gowned in black jersey cloth, in which she wore a hat of black georgette. Her bouquet was composed of crimson roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a gown of navy mariette relieved with Oriental colourings with which she wore a hat to harmonise. — She carried a bouquet of sunburnt roses.....
