In 1851 Betsey (5) of Tetney, scholar, was at home with her parents John Crowston (44) of Holton-le-Clay, farmer of 167 acres, and Selina Crowston (34) of Boston, in Tetney, Lincolnshire. There also were Betsey's siblings (born in Tetney): Healey (13), Ann (11), John (9), George (7), Robert (3).

In 1861 Betsey (15) of Tetney, farmer's daughter, was at home with her parents John Crowston (54), farmer of 104 acres, and Selina Crowston (45). There also were siblings (born in Tetney): Earley (23), Ann (21), John (19), George (17), Robert (13), William (1).

Mrs. Elizabeth Motley.

The death occurred on April 17 of Mrs Elizabeth Motley an old Queensland identity while at the home of her daughter, Mrs W Atherton, of Pymble (New South Wales). The late Mrs. Motley had been on a visit to Sydney, and had booked her passage back to Brisbane, when she contracted double pneumonia, to which she succumbed. The deceased, who is the mother of the wife of the Rev T. R. Thurlow, of Toowong, landed in Rockhampton with her husband and family 48 years ago and has always been a member of the Campbell-street Methodist Church. Her husband predeceased her 20 years ago. For many years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. T. R. Thurlow. She died at the age of 84 years, and leaves three daughters and three sons to mourn their loss.
