Research Notes:
There were no Lingard family members born or married in Bilsby between 1669 and 1694 and from 1695 to 1769. Hence Martha Lingard came from another parish, most likely Alford where her marriage to Aaron Motland/Motley was also recorded. As such, she was probably the daughter of John Lingard and Mary Ward who had a number of children in Alford from about 1659 to about 1681. The pages in the Alford parish register for the years 1666 to 1676 appear to be missing.
Martha's parentage as given here, whilst probable, is nonetheless tentative.
