Robertus Warde et Barbara Dixon 28 Apr 1631 William Ward & Anne Parnell m. 27 Jan 1652*
* Note that John and Mary's two eldest daughters (both of whom died young) were named Parnell. Possibly a number of members of the Ward and Parnell families intermarried. Perhaps Mary's mother was a Parnell, but this is sheer speculation.
Marriage Information:
Mary married John LINGARD on 17 Oct 1665 in Bilsby Holy Trinity, Lincolnshire, England 1. (John LINGARD was born est 1635 and was buried on 31 Oct 1707 in Alford, Lincolnshire, England 2.
Marriage Notes:
Neither John Lingard nor Mary Ward were from Bilsby, as the Marriage Bond indicates (from "elsewhere"). John, Mary and their family lived in Alford, though neither John nor Mary were christened there. The date of christening of John's eldest son by his first wife Thomasine Bancroft in 1659 was the first Lingard christening in Alford in nearly 60 years. However, note from the Alford parish register: Elizabetha Lingarde, vidua [widow], sepult. 10 Jan 1617/8, who may have been John's mother.
