In 1841 Robert Roberts (35), grocer, and wife Mary (30), were living in Llanbeder Village, Llanbedr. Present was daughter Sarah (2).

Robert Roberts, late of Llanbedr, died intestate.

Know all men... that We Robert Roberts of Penisarcwum in the Parish of Llanenddwyn in the County of Merioneth, farmer, Robert Jones of Penybryn isaf in the Parish of Llandecwyn and Robert Roberts of Penisarcwum in the said Parish of Llanenddwyn in the County of Merioneth, farmer, are held and firmly bound... in the Sum of four hundred pounds...

On the Seventh day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and forty six Personally appeared the within bounden Robert Roberts and alleged that Robert Roberts late of Llanbedr in the Parish of Llanbedr in the County of Merioneth and Diocese of Bangor, Shopkeeper, departed this Life on the seventh day of June One thousand eight hundred and forty six, Intestate leaving Sarah Roberts a Minor of the Age of Seven years or thereabouts and Robert Roberts a Minor of the Age of Five years or thereabouts his lawful Children and only next of Kin him surviving, That he this Appearer is the paternal Grandfather of the said Minors and Tutor and Curator lawfully assigned of their Persons and Estates, Wherefore he prays that Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased be granted to him (during the minority and for the use of the said Minors) and giving the usual Security.

Let Administration pass as prayed to the Appearer Robert Roberts, he being first sworn on the Holy Evangelists as the Law directs and that the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased do not amount in value to the Sum of Two hundred Pounds.

Admon granted 7 September 1846.

In 1851 Robert's children, Sarah and Robert, then aged 12 and 9 respectively, were staying with their aunt Catherine Davies, aged 55, flour dealer, in Llanbedr village, Llanbedr.

  Marriage Information:

Robert married Mary DAVIES, daughter of Evan DAVIES and Mary JONES, during the 4th Quarter of 1838 in the Ffestiniog District, Merioneth, Wales. (Mary DAVIES was christened on 18 Jan 1811 in Llanbedr, Merioneth, Wales.)
