In the 1939 Register Helen K Darby (b. 19 May 1888), unpaid domestic duties, and husband George Darby (b. 27 Dec 1885), master butcher, were living at 41 Margate Road, Ramsgate, Kent. At the same address were [children] Arthur G Darby (b. 30 Dec 1916), single, secretarial co. clerk, Marjorie K Darby (b. 28 Oct 1919), single, butcher's clerk, and John W Darby (b. 26 Jun 1922), single.

In Feb 1961 Helen Kate Darby, widow, was granted Administration of her late husband's personal effects.
