Abstract of the Will of Maurice Williams of Nanmore in the County of Merioneth, written 3 Jun 1669, proved 26 Oct 1676. 3

Desires that his body be buried in the parish church of Bethgelert in the county of Carnarvon.

Gives & bequeaths 2s. toward the reparation of the cathedral church of Bangor.

Gives & bequeaths 2s. toward the reparation of the church of Berthkelert.

Gives & bequeaths 20s. towards the relief of the poor of Berthkelert that lies within Nanmore in the county of Merioneth.

Gives & bequeaths 20s. towards the relief of the poor of the rest of the parish.

Gives, devises & bequeaths in Trust to his friends & cousins Lewis Anwill of Park in the county of Merioneth, Esq., Thomas Woods of Llangwyfan in the county of Anglesey, Esq., and Owen Wynne of Glascoed in the county of Carnarvon, Esq., all his messuages, lands, tenements & hereditaments in Merioneth and Carnarvon, with the intent and purpose that they permit his son William Williams and his heirs to receive the rents, issues and profits of said messuages, lands, tenements & hereditaments for the term of 50 years....

And in default of such issue, he gives, devises & bequeaths the his messuages, lands & tenements in the county of Carnarvon to his daughter Margaret Saython for the term of 10 years.

Gives, devises and bequeaths to his daughter Elizabeth all his messuages, lands and tenements in Nanmore known as Paith lygad^u, Berllanfech, Cae? myng---, & Bwlch Leihog.

Gives & bequeaths to his three daughters six pence a piece.

Gives & bequeaths the rest & residue of his goods, chattels, debts and credits and other personal estate to his said son William Williams whom he constitutes, ordains and appoints sole executor of his last will and testament.

Remits and discharges his son-in-law Evan Saython from all reckonings and demands that may be pretended to due and owing to him.

Maurice married Lowry Prydderch, daughter of Morris Prydderch of Blaen y Pennant. (Lowry Prydderch was born in Blaen-y-Pennant, Llandrillo, Merioneth, Wales and died by 1667.)
