Abstract of the Will of Hugh Vaughan of Maesygwerngoch in the Parish of Pennal in the County of Merioneth, Gent., written 20 Aug 1717, inventory taken 25 Apr 1718, proved 4 Sep 1718.

Gives, devises & bequeaths to his son Jenkin Vaughan all his messuages, tenements and lands known as Cythyn Llanerih Goydog situated in Towyn and Talyllyn in the county of Merioneth currently occupied by Jenkin John, subject to the payment of dower or jointure of Hugh's wife Dorothy Vaughan for the term of her natural life.

Gives, devises & bequeaths to his wife Dorothy Vaughan all his messuages, tenements & lands known as maes y wern goch, Bryn y P---- and Cwmgwayn Gynan situated in the Parish of Pennal in county Merioneth for the term of her natural life. After her decease he gives, devises & bequeaths the same to his said son Jenkin Vaughan provided he pays to Hugh's daughter Anne Vaughan the sum of £50. And in default of heirs of his son Jenkin he gives, devises & bequeaths the same messuages, tenements & lands to his said daughter Anne Vaughan and her heirs. And in default of issue, the he gives, devises & bequeaths the same to his nephew Lewis Vaughan of Penmaen goed and his heirs. And in default of issue he gives, devises & bequeaths the same to his nephew William Vaughan the son of his brother Richard Vaughan.

Gives, devises & bequeaths £200 to his said daughter Anne Vaughan on or before she attains the age of 21 years, in addition to the £50 before mentioned.

Gives, devises & bequeaths £5 to his natural daughter Elizabeth the wife of Evan Meredith.

Gives & bequeaths £5 to Anne the daughter of Evan Meredith to be paid to her when she attains the age of 16 years.

Gives & bequeaths £5 to Dorothy the daughter of Evan Meredith to be paid to her when she attains the age of 16 years.

Gives & bequeaths £5 to Hugh the son of the said Evan Meredith to be paid to him when he attains the age of 16 years.

Nominates, constitutes & appoints his wife Dorothy Vaughan and his son Jenkin Vaughan co-executors of his last will and testament, to whom he gives & bequeaths all the rest & residue of his personal estate, goods & chattels.

Nominates & desires that his brother John Vaughan of Penmaen goed and Charles Lloyd of Lover Grove Esqr supervisors of his last will and testament.
