Abstract of the Will of Lewes Nanney of Maesypandu in the County of Merioneth, Esqr., written 21 Feb 1641/2, memorandum 8 Mar 1641/2, proved 5 Dec 1642. 3

Directs that his body be buried in the parish church of Talyllyn.

Gives & bequeaths 20 shillings towards the reparation of the church of Talyllyn.

Gives & bequeaths 10 shillings towards the reparation of the cathedral church of Bangor.

Gives, devises & bequeaths to his 2nd son Edward Nanney all those messuages, lands, tenements & hereditaments commonly known as Cwm Kelli, Kay Evan, David Vaughan, Owin Korsog and Estain feirig in the townships of Cwm Cadian and Kerswyn in county Merioneth.

Gives, devises & bequeaths to his 3rd son Lewes Nanney all his messuages, lands, tenements & hereditaments commonly known as Hendre Mallog and voel goch, tythyn y Nant, Kay yn waddu and Kay yn ---?---...

Gives, devises & bequeaths to his younger son Hugh Nanney all his messuages, lands, tenements & hereditaments commonly known as tythyn yg----, Kay Howell, Tythyn y yllfach? and Tythyn y Nant oyer

Gives & bequeaths to his son and heir apparent John Nanney his best horse or gelding.

Gives & bequeaths to his daughters Anne, Jane and Gwen 5 shillings each.

Gives & bequeaths £300 each to his youngest daughters Elizabeth and Ellen.

Gives & bequeaths £10 worth of plate to his goddaughter Ann Nanney.

Gives & bequeaths £30 to his brother Gr[iffith] Nanney.

Gives & bequeaths £5 to the poor of the parish of Talyllyn.

Gives & bequeaths 50 shillings to the poor of the parish of Llanfihangel y pennant.

Gives & bequeaths 20 shillings each towards the reparations of the parish churches of Dolgelley, Llanvachroth & Llanglynin.

Gives & bequeaths 10 shillings towards the reparation of the parish church of Llanegryn.

Nominates & appoints his wife Jane Nanney sole executrix of his last will and testament.

Nominates & appoints his cousin Hugh Nanney Esqr and his father Edward Nanney overseers of his last will and testament.

Memorandum. The means for raising portions for his daughters Anne, Jane & Gwen shall be as follows: the land mortgaged by Rees Hughes & others, and the land of Anne Pugh, he assigns over to his father Edward Nanney and Edward Lewes as feoffees in trust.
