Abstract of the Will of John Nanney of Maesypandu in the County of Merioneth Esquire, written 25 Apr 1764, proved 5 Jul 1764.
With the exception of his capital messuage called Maesypandu, he gives & devises all his messuages, mills, lands, tenements & hereditaments in the parishes of Talyllyn, Llangelynin, Dolgelley, Llanfihangel y pennant, Llanegryn, Towyn and Llandecwyn to his nephews William Wynn of Maesynyedd in county Merioneth, esquire, William Williams of Palsgrave Head Court London, surgeon, and John Devereux of Newtown in county Montgomery, esquire.
Devises an annuity of £30 to paid to his sister Elizabeth Nanney for her natural life, to be issued out of his messuage and real estate in Dolgelley.
Devises an annuity of £5 to be paid to his servant Richard Antony.
Gives & bequeaths his capital messuage called Maesypandu to his friends William Anwyl of Hengai in county Merioneth, Gentleman, and David Rees the younger of Maesypandy Gentleman, to the use of his eldest sister Lowry Nanney otherwise Wynn, her heirs male & assigns, and after her death, to the use of William Wynne his nephew, and after the decease of William Wynne, to the use of William's eldest son Robert Wynn, his heirs male & assigns ... And in default of such issue, to the use of John's nephew William Williams aforesaid, only son of John's second sister Jane Nanney otherwise Williams, and after the death of William Williams, to the use of his eldest son John Williams, his heirs male & assigns.... And in default of such issue, to the use of Francis Williams, second son of William Williams... And in default of such issue, to the use of his fourth sister Mary Nanney otherwise Devereux, and after her death, to the use of her eldest son John Devereux, his heirs male & assigns. And in default of such issue, to the use of Pryce Devereux and his heirs male, third son of his sister Mary Nanney otherwise Devereux. And in default of such issue, to the use of Blandina Devereux & her heirs male, second daughter of his said sister Mary Nanney otherwise Devereux; in default of such issue, to the use of Elinora Devereux & her heirs male, youngest daughter of Mary Nanney otherwise Devereux. And in default of such issue, to the use of Elizabeth Wynn, eldest daughter of his nephew William Wynn. And in default of her having heirs male, to the use of Margaret Wynn, second daughter of the said William Wynn. And default of her having heirs male, to the use of Mary Devereux, eldest daughter of his sister Mary Nanney otherwise Devereux.
Gives & bequeaths to his sister Lowry Nanney otherwise Wynn all his plate, linen and household goods.
Gives & bequeaths £140 to his sister Elizabeth Nanney.
Gives & bequeaths £1600 to his nephew William Williams.
Gives & bequeaths £1100 to his great nephew John Williams, son of William Williams above, which money is invested in an East India annuity.
Gives & bequeaths £500 each to his nephews John Devereux & Pryce Devereux.
Gives & bequeaths £500 each to his nieces Mary, Blandina & Elinora Devereux.
Releases and acquits his cousin William Anwyl of Hengai from all sums of money owing to him at the time of his death, and gives him a further £50.
Gives & bequeaths £100 each to David Rees the elder and his son David Rees the younger.
Gives & bequeaths to each of his servants that will be in his employ at the time of his death a year's wages over and above the wages due to them at that time.
All the rest & residue of his personal estate he gives & bequeaths to his sister Lowry Nanney otherwise Wynn, whom he nominates and appoints sole executrix of his last will and testament.
