Abstract of the Will of Catherine Meyrick of Caernarvon, widow, written 4 Jan 1721/2, proved 23 Jul 1723.

Refers to a deed of marriage settlement dated 14 Jan 1714 between James Brynker of Brynker in the county of Caernarvon, Esq^r., & William Brynker Esq^r. son and heir apparent of the said James Brynker, of the first part; Gwen Fletcher of Treberth in the said county, widow, of the second part; Hugh Griffith of Caernarvon in the said county, Esq^r., and Robert Griffith of Nantlley in the said county, Gent., of the third party; Sr Griffith William of Marte in the said county, Baronet, George Coitmer of Coitmer in the said county, Esq^r., William Owen of Cleneney in the said county, Esq^r, & William Carter of Kinmel in the county of Denbigh, Esq^r., of the fourth party; and William Price of Rhiwlas in the county of Merioneth, Esq^r., & Lancelet Bulkeley of Llangelynyn in the county of Caernarvon, Clerk, of the fifth party, in which there is a power to give, devise and dispose of several messuages, lands and tenements called Coed cae, . . . . . . . . and Kefn Gwyn, as follows:

To her brother James Brynker Esq^r to enable him to pay the following legacies and to discharge her funeral expenses

Gives & bequeaths to her nephew James Brynker son of the said James an annuity of £20 for five years following her death.

Gives & bequeaths to her nephew Robert Brynker an annuity of £20 for seven years following her death.

Gives & bequeaths to her nephew William Brynker an annuity of £20 for eight years following her death so that he can buy one or more plate or plates of silver.

Gives & bequeaths £100 to her niece Jane Brynker.

Gives & bequeaths £100 to her sister Elin Lloyd the late wife of Lewis Lloyd, Clerk.

Gives & bequeaths £20 to her nephew Lewis the son of her said sister Elin by the aforesaid Lewis Lloyd.

Gives & bequeaths £5 to her niece Barbara Lloyd daughter of Elin & Lewis Lloyd.

Gives & bequeaths £5 to her nephew Robert Wynne son of William Wynne of Maes y Neuadd Esq^r her brother-in-law.

Gives & bequeaths £10 each to Ellis Wynne and Jane Wynne her nephew and niece.

Gives & bequeaths £10 to Lady Owen of Borkington, and to Jane Owen of Trevan widow 40 shillings to buy a ring.

Gives & bequeaths 40 shillings to the poor of the parish of Llandwrog.

Gives & bequeaths £3 to buy a plate to and for the use of the parish of Llanfihangel y Pennant in the county of Caernarvon.

Gives & bequeaths £5 as well as all her household goods at Nantley to her cousin Ales Griffith the late wife of Robert Griffith of Nantley deceased.

Gives & bequeaths 20 shillings to M^rs Mary Twiselton to buy a ring.

Gives & bequeaths 40 shillings to her cousin Catherine Wynne of Glascoed widow, and to her two daughters 20 shillings each.

Gives & bequeaths £5 to Margaret Griffith wife of John Griffith Esq^r.

Gives & bequeaths £5 to Margaret Griffith late the wife of Edward Griffith of Caernarvon, mercer.

Nominates, constitutes, ordain and appoints her brother James Brynkir Esq^r of Brynkir to be the sole executor and residuary legatee of her last will and testament.
