At the time of the 1891 England Census Emily Holter, age 30, born in Westham [sic], and husband John Holter, age 34, born in Westham, milkman, were living at Old Brickyard Lot, Westham. With them were children (born in Westham): John (7), scholar, Mercy (6), scholar, Ma---- (3), and William (7 months).
At the time of the 1901 England Census Emily J Holter, age 38, born in Hailsham, and husband John Holter, age 43, born in Westham, farmer, were living on North Heath Farm in Hailsham St. Mary. Present were children (born in Westham): John (17), carter on farm, William (10), Bessie (7), Edward (4), and Rosalie (1).
At the time of the 1911 England Census Emily Jane Holter, age 49, born in Hailsham, mother of 7 children, and husband of 28 years John Holter Senr., age 54, born in Westham, farm laborer, were living in Red Horse, Harebeating Lane, Hailsham. With them were children (born in Hailsham): Edward (14), paper boy, Rosalie (11), school, Emily (8).

THE FUNERAL.
The funeral of Mrs. Holter took place on Wednesday afternoon at the Cemetery, the service being conducted by the Rev. Harold Wildblood (Wesleyan minister).
The mourners included: Mr. J. Holter (widower), Mr. and Mrs. John Holter, jun., and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Holter (sons and daughters-in-law), Mr. William Holter (son), Mrs. G. Field, Miss Bessie Holter and Miss Rose Holter (daughters), Miss Roberts (sister), Mrs. D. Honeysett (niece), Mrs. R. Roberts, of Brighton (niece) and her daughter....
