In 1851 Edwin Stockman [i.e. Spackman], aged 25, born in Wootton Bassett Wilts, plasterer, and wife Johannah, aged 25?, born in Lideard Wilts, were living in Baslows Lane, Andover Hampshire. With them was son Frederick (2) of Wootton Bassett.
In 1861 Edwin Spackman, aged 35, born in Wootton Bassett Wilts, plasterer, and wife Johannah, aged 35, born in . . . . . . . Wilts, were living at 10 Ann Street North, Newington St. Mary Surrey. With them were children Frederick (12) of Wootton Bassett, and George J (2) of Newington.
In 1871 Edwin Spackman, aged 45, born in Wootton Bassett Wilts, plasterer, and wife Johannah, aged 44, born in Wiltshire, were living at 38 Swan Place, St. George the Martyr, Southwark Surrey. With them was son George J (12) of Southwark Surrey, office boy.

It is with regret that we chronicle the death of Edwin Spackman, age sixty-seven years, father of George Sinclair, the well-known variety agent, at Guy's Hospital, on Monday last, from internal cancer. The funeral, the arrangements for which have been placed in the responsible hands of T. Dunkley, will take place to-day. The cortège will leave Mr. Sinclair's residence, 35, Knowle Road, Brixton, at one o'clock, the interment being at Tooting Cemetery at 2.30.
