In 1819 Thomas Chesterman was a witness at the marriage of his sister Edith to Christopher Miles.

In 1851 Thomas Chesterman, aged 46, born in Cliffe Pypard, agr. labr., and wife Ann, aged 43, born in Cliffe Pypard, agr. labr., were living in Village of Bushton, Clyffe Pypard. With them was son-in-law* Walter Gale (13) Cliffe Pypard, plough boy. * Ann's natural-born son.

In 1861 Thomas Chesterman, aged 56, born in Cliffe Pypard, ag labourer, and wife Ann, aged 55, born in Cliffe Pypard, were living in Thornhill, Cliffe Pypard. Thomas's nephew, Thomas Miles and his family, were living nearby.
