In 1756 Margaret was, as one of the unnamed younger children of Blanch Phillips and her husband John Phillips, a beneficiary of the will of her maternal grandfather Richard Hockin of Nanterrow, who left her 5 shillings.
In 1778 Margaret was named in her father's will as the mother of three children to whom he made bequests.
