In 1843 Ellis Evans of Werngron was one of the witnesses to the Will of his brother-in-law William Parry of Llwyn Ithel.
In 1851 Ellis Evans (56) of Llanbedr, farmer of 113 acres employing 7 labourers, and wife Catherine (52) of Llanbedr, were living in Werngron, Llanbedr. Present was daughter Elizabeth (11) of Llanbedr.

Ellis Evans of Werngron in the Parish of Llanbedr, farmer, died intestate. Catherine Evans of Werngron, widow and relict, and Griffith Evans Wynne of Cwm yr afon in the said Parish, Gentleman, paid a bond of £900 for Administration of the goods, chattels and credits of the said Ellis Evans. On 13 Dec 1851 Administration was granted to Catherine Evans, the value of his personal effects not exceeding £450.
An inventory of the goods and chattels of Mr Ellis Evans of Werngron, farmer, deceased, were taken and appraised on 25 Nov 1851 by John H. Owen of Cefn y filldin? near Harlech and John Lloyd of Erw-wen, the value thereof totalling to £405 16s. 4
