THE LATE MR. W. BRITCHER.
Funeral at the Cemetery.
As chronicled in our last issue, death has removed from our midst an esteemed tradesman, in the person of Mr. William Britcher, fruiterer, of High Street. The deceased gentleman was a fluent French speaker, and last summer, on the occasion of the visit of the Parish Church choir to Boulogne, he acted as guide. He also acted in this capacity when the members of the Tonbridge Fire Brigade visited Milan, some three years ago. He was educated at Mr. Lane's private school, in Quarry Hill. The late Mr. Britcher was well-known as a Freemason, being a member of the Borough Lodge, London, 2589, the Royal Jubilee Chapter, 72, and the Medway Lodge, Tonbridge. He was a member of the Tonbridge Bowling Club, and his knowledge of French was much appreciated, when several of the members visited the Continent. The deceased gentleman was connected with the Tonbridge Rifle Club, a member of the Ratepayers' Association, and an associate of the Y.M.C.A....
