At the time of the 1881 England Census Edwin W Trangmar, age 19, born in Shoreham Sussex, loco: engineer, was with his parents at 10 Newton? Rd., Deptford St. Paul London.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Edwin W Trangmar, age 29, born in Shoreham Sussex, civil engineer, and wife Mary A, age 29, born in New Cross Surrey, were living in Port Hall Rd., Ferryside, Preston Sussex. With them was son (born in Hailsham): Alan E (1).

At the time of the 1901 England Census Edwin W Trangmar, age 39, born in Shoreham Sussex, civil engineer, and wife Mary A, age 39, born in New Cross Kent, were living in 61 Jerningham Rd., Deptford St. Paul, London. Present were children: Alan E (11) of Horsham Sussex, Dorothy M (9) of New Cross Surrey, and Edwin G (7) of New Cross.

In 1920 E W Trangmar was present at the marriage of his son George Edwin Trangmar to Dorothy Mary Ford in West Norwood Lambeth.

In Feb 1933 Edwin William Trangmar, railway servant, was granted Probate of the personal effects of his sister-in-law Jessie Anne Trangmar, widow.

In the 1939 Register Edwin W Trangmar (b. 17 Dec 1861), retired locomotive superintendent, and wife Mary A (b. 22 Dec 1861), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 48 Eridge Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent. At the same address was [daughter] Dorothy M Trangmar (b. 18 Sep 1891), single, unpaid domestic duties.

MR. EDWARD WILLIAM TRANGMAR [b,c]
of Oak View, Eridge-road, once District Locomotive Superintendent at West Station, died on Sunday aged 86. Mr. Trangmar came to Tunbridge Wells from New Cross in 1912 and had been a railwayman 47 years when he retired in 1923. He leaves a widow, daughter, and a son (also a railwayman).
