Mr. & Mrs. Bristed and an infant child [i.e. Vernon] arrived in London England from Bombay India on 9 Jun 1899 per the ship Peninsular. 4

At the time of the 1901 England Census John Bristed, age 44, born in Dalston London, living on own means, his wife Mary F, age 35, born in Scotland, and their son Vernon B B Bristed (2) of India, were with John's widowed mother Martha Bristed at 35 St. Peters Rd., Margate Kent.
