Writing his Will in May 1805 Thomas Short of Wootton Bassett, gent, devised his freehold tenement with garden and premises in Wood Street Lane in Wootton Bassett to Henry Short the younger, son of (his nephew) Henry Short of the city of Bath, soap boiler.*
* Henry's and Mary's youngest daughters, Eliza and Maria, were born in Bath in 1805 and 1807 respectively, and christened in Walcot St. Swithin (in the City of Bath). The eldest child, Henry Short 'the younger,' was born in 1799 in Wootton Bassett.
