In December 1830 Matilda Blackman was present at the marriage of her sister Caroline Blackman to Robert Deudney in Hooe Sussex.

In January 1832 Matilda Blackman was present at the marriage of her sister Maria Blackman to Thomas Martin in Hooe Sussex.

In 1838 Matilda Blackman received £1,500 from her late father's Will.

At the time of the 1851 England Census Matilda Duke, aged 38, born in Hooe Sussex, and husband William [sic] Duke, aged 38, born in Bexhill Sussex, General Practitioner, M.R.C.S., were living at 26 George St., Hastings St. Mary in the Castle Sussex. With them were children (born in Hastings): Elizth B (9), scholar, Walter (8), Fanny (3?) and Fredk (7 months).

In 1859 Matilda Duke of Hastings, widow, was co-executor of the Will of her late husband.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Matilda Duke, aged 48, born in Hooe Sussex, widow, gentlewoman, was living at 6 Cambridge Terrace, Hastings Holy Trinity. With her were children (born in Hastings): Elizabeth B (19) and Frederick (10), scholar.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Matilda Duke, aged 58, born in Hooe Sussex, widow, mortgage holder, was living at 6 Cambridge Terrace, Hastings Holy Trinity. Visiting was Sarah R Duke (51) of Bexhill, unmarried, house owner.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Matilda Duke, aged 68, born in Hooe Sussex, widow, annuitant, was living at 7 Cambridge Terrace, Hastings Holy Trinity. With her was son Frederick (30) of Hastings, no occupation.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Matilda Duke, aged 77, born in Hooe Sussex, widow, no occupation, was living at 9 Cornwallis Terrace, Hastings Holy Trinity. With her was son Frederick (40) of Hastings, no occupation.
