At the time of the 1881 England Census Henry Mepham, age 15, born in Poplar Middlesex, rivetter, was with his parents at 1 Star Lane, West Ham Essex.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Henry Mapham, age 26, born in Canning Town Essex* [sic], boiler maker, and wife Sarah Ann [sic], age 25, born in Limehouse London, were living at 45 Kent St., Canton Glamorgan Wales. With them were Eliza (1) of Canning Town, and Annie (2 months) of Cardiff Docks.

* Henry Mepham spent his formative years in Canning Town Essex but was not born there.

At the time of the 1901 Wales Census Henry Mepham, age 35, born in Poplar London, boilermaker, and wife Sarah, age 33, born in Limehouse London, were living at 34 Lombard St., Barry, Glamorgan. With them were children: Eliza (11) of Canning Town Essex, Annie G (10) of Cardiff Glam., Edith M (6) of Barry, Violet G (4) of Barry, and Stephen A (1) of Barry.

At the time of the 1911 Wales Census Henry Mepham, age 35, born in London, holder up for boiler makers (ship repairing), and wife ofn 25 years Sarah Jane, age 44, born in London (mother of 14 children, 4 deceased), were living at 131 Merthyr Street, Barry Glamorgan. Present were children (single) Annie G (21) of Cardiff, domestic servant, and born in Barry: Edith M (18), domestic servant, Violet G (16), domestic servant, Stephen Alx (13), school, Rosina May (10), school, John Alfred (8), school, Sarah Jane (7), school, George Hy (5) and Joseph Hy (2).

In the 1939 Register Henry Mepham (b. 2 Jun 1866), retired boilermaker, and wife Sarah J Mepham (b. 5 Nov 1867), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 35 Pyke Street, Barry, Glamorgan.
