By order dated 24 Apr 1809 Robert Peckham, wife Sarah and children Sarah (5 years), William (21 months) and Ann (9 weeks) were removed from Ringmer to Isfield. ⁵

At the time of the 1841 England Census Sarah Carey, aged about 35, and husband Joseph Carey, aged about 30, carpenter, were living in Lower Park Cottage, Ringmer Sussex. With them were children: George (6) and Harriet (3).

At the time of the 1851 England Census Sarah Carey, age 46, born in Ringmer Sussex, and husband Joseph Carey, age 42, born in Alciston Sussex, farmer of 32 acres employing 1 labourer, were living in Norlington Broyle, Ringmer Sussex. With them were children (born in Ringmer): George (16), farm labourer, and Harriett (13).

At the time of the 1861 England Census Sarah Carey, age 56, born in Ringmer Sussex, and husband Joseph A Carey, age 52, born in Alciston Sussex, farmer of 40 acres employing 3 men and 1 boy, were living in Cottage, Broyle Mill, Ringmer Sussex. Son George and his family were living nextdoor.
