At the time of the 1911 England Census Mary Avis (50) of Southborough, single, was with her widowed brother William Avis (58) of Southborough Kent, carter on gentleman's farm, in Dunorlan Cottages, Tunbridge Wells Kent.

Miss MARY ANN AVIS, of Dunorlan Farm, passed away on March 31st, aged 59. The funeral was on Tuesday, deceased being interred at the Borough Cemetery. The Rev. Williams officiated.
