Sarah's age becomes more consistent in the later censuses.
At the time of the 1851 England Census Sarah Avis, age 30, born in Langton Kent, and husband Richard Avis, age 34, born in Hawkhurst [sic], farm labourer, were living in Tunbridge Kent. With them were daughters (born in Southboro): Harriet (3) and Charlotte (1).
At the time of the 1871 England Census Dorah [sic] Avis, age 57, born in Ashurst Kent, and husband Richard Avis, age 55, born in Ashurst, ag lab, were living at 15 Springfield Rd., Southborough, Tunbridge Kent. With them were children (born in Tunbridge): William (17), ag lab, and Mary A (9), scholar.
At the time of the 1881 England Census Sarah Avis, age 65, born in Langton Kent, and husband Richard Avis, age 67, born in Ashurst Kent, genl labr, were living in Holden Road, Tonbridge Kent.
At the time of the 1891 England Census Sarah Avis, age 74, born in Langton Kent, widow, was in the District Union Workhouse in Tunbridge Kent.
