In May 1822 Mary Akehurst was present at the marriage of her sister Hannah Akehurst to Thomas Weeks in Heathfield Sussex.
Writing his Will in Dec 1826 Thomas Nailard of Heathfield, farmer, bequeathed £10 to Mary Akehurst the daughter of William and Sarah Akehurst, naming Thomas Nailard Akehurst as her natural-born son.
At the time of the 1841 England Census Mary Butchers, aged about 40, and husband Thomas Butchers, aged about 50, ag. lab., were living in Etchingham Sussex. Present were children: Caroline (10), Harriot (7), Alfred (4).
At the time of the 1851 England Census Mary Butchers, age 55, born in Mayfield Sussex, widow, parish relief, was living in Tonbridge Lane, Etchingham Sussex. With her were children (born in Burwash): Caroline (19), out of service, and Alfred (14), scholar.
