Abstract of the Will of Elizabeth Tufnell, Widow of Samuel Tufnell late of Langleys in the County of Essex, Esquire, deceased, written 4 Apr 1771 and proved 27 Nov 1777. 5

Desires her body to be buried in the parish church in Pleshey Essex where her husband is buried.

Gives & bequeaths £200 of East India stock to her eldest son John Jolliffe Tufnell.

Gives & bequeaths £200 of East India stock to her second son George Forster Tufnell, as well as her silver fruit dish given her by Sir William Halton.

Gives & bequeaths £500 of East India stock to her youngest son William Tufnell Jolliffe.

Gives & bequeaths her house in Curzon Street in the parish of St. George Hanover Square in county Middlesex to her daughters Elizabeth Tufnell and Maria Anna Tufnell. If one of her daughters chooses to quit the said house then the one who stays shall pay her £1,500.

Gives & bequeaths £500 of Old South Sea annuities to her said daughter Elizabeth Tufnell, as well as her yellow diamond ring, her silver tea kettle and lamp that were Sir William Halton's, her small silver coffee pot lamp & dish, and a silver cup originally given her by her own mother, a pair of wrought silver candlesticks and her Chelsea china and one moiety or half part of plate.

Gives & bequeaths to her said daughter Elizabeth a quilt worked with gold and colours, and a fine chain stitched quilt given to her by her own mother.

Gives & bequeaths £1,000 of Old South Sea annuities to her youngest daughter Maria Anna Tufnell, as well as her diamond rings she wears, a gold snuff box set with diamonds, all her old gold silver and other coin and medals, a silver tea kettle and lamp, a pair of wrought silver candlesticks, and the other moiety or half part of her plate. Also two rows of pearls given her by Sir William Halton.

The manor of Marescalls alias Langleys, the site of the manor, and the capital messuage called Langleys with the park and warren, and land, in Great and Little Waltham, and Pleshey.
